NAILED
Since the imposition of a global culture of fear in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of 9/11, I began a process that continues to this day.
Its methodology is simple: every time I travel by plane, I show up at the corresponding airport with a rusty iron nail hidden in my hand luggage.
A different nail every time.
Traveling with such an object violates international security regulations and basic flight policies established by airlines.
Some of these nails are found by the security systems prior to shipment, and seized by those responsible for them.
Others go unnoticed and become one more element of this installation.
58 nails were presented on the last public exhibition of the project.
The total number has increased ever since.
